

Dan Bray is a multi-disciplinary theatre artist whose with a proven track record of creating strong, entertaining work. With a focus on original Canadian comedy - as well as forays into adaptation, literary pastiche, horror, and drama - his plays have been performed across the Maritimes, as well as Ontario and British Columbia. He regularly leads playriting workshops, and - as a member of PERFORM! (Theatre Nova Scotia) - he has also had the chance to work high school students create their own original work.







Dan is a member of both the Playwrights Guild of Canada and Playwrights Atlantic Resource Centre, through which many of his plays can be accessed and read. He is a prolific writer and enthusiastic collaborator (and has written with such artists as Jacob Sampson, Kat McCormack, Kevin Hartford, Colleen Arcturus MacIsaac, Justin Gregg, and Jessie Walker, among others). Dan has experience in writing comedy, drama, mysteries, theatre for kids, speeches, film, prose, and essays, and his plays have been produced in theatres as well as universities and high schools.






Dan has also adapted many early-modern plays such as Arden (adapted from Arden of Feversham), TYRANT: A HORROR PLAY (adapted from The Second Maiden's Tragedy), and Fox (adapted from Volpone). He also adapted the British novel Observatory Mansions for the stage in 2022 and is currently working in bringing the children's horror story Bunnicula by Deborah and James Howe to the stage.
