As Artistic Director of The Villains Theatre, Dan Bray has directed many shows across many genres, including Renaissance drama, contemporary North American plays, musicals, theatre for young audiences, site-specific work, and more. He is influenced by ghost stories and urban legends and fairy tales, hauntings (both literal and metaphorical), cartoons and slashers, puppet shows and seances. His goal is to create work that can only be experienced communally, in the room, live (or, admittedly, via Livestream). Dan also routinely directs his own origin al work, and his practice eschews the traditional hierarchy: by exercising a lateral leadership approach to rehearsals,.
